How is Money Stolen from Gift Cards?

Scammers can steal the gift card money in various ways; a few are mentioned below: 

• Money is stolen from gift cards when someone steals one, copies the card number and security code, and then seals the card to appear undisturbed.  

• When another person unknowingly purchases this compromised card and adds money, the scammer swiftly exploits the copied information to drain the funds from the card before the legitimate buyer can use it.  

This allows the scammer to steal the money loaded onto the gift card by the unsuspecting purchaser.
